The National Broadcasting Commission of Nigeria (NBC) has given a directive to all media stations to immediately stop further reporting of details of bandits and insurgents’ attacks in Nigeria.

In a letter directed to all print and broadcast media on the 7th of July 2021, the Director of Broadcast Monitoring at the NBC, Francisca Aiyetan instructed all media stations in Nigeria to forthwith desist from glamourizing “the nefarious activities of insurgents, bandits, and kidnappers”.
