APGA representative Chukwuma Soludo wins Anambra’s governorship election.

Charles Chukwuma Soludo a representative of the All Progressives Grand Alliance Party wins the Anambra governorship election, Soludo won 19 of the 21 Local government areas including Ihiala LGA.

This was announced on Wednesday morning by Prof Florence Obi at the INEC office, His closest rival, Mr. Val Ozigbo of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, came second with 53,807 votes, While the candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC, came third with 43,285. Charles Chukwuma Soludo who happens to be the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria who is enthusiastic to serving his people will be sworn into office next year March after the expiration of the incumbent governor, Willie Obiano.

Sometimes in April 2021 during the build up election, Chukwuma narrowly escaped death during a town hall meeting in his hometown in Isuofia in the Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra, when some gunmen unleashed terror on him and his security aides.

Soludo lost three of his police orderlies during the attack which he described as “senseless”. The CBN governor also dedicated his victory to the three policemen in his acceptance speech on Wednesday. Also reports was received that there was resistance in Orsumoghu and Lilu in the election process, INEC had deployed staff to the communities, But they couldn’t gain entrance.
