The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be embarking on an official visit to Belize, Bahamas, and Jamaica in the place of Her Royal Majesty to grace the occasion of the Platinum Jubilee. The visit will be between the 19th of March till the 26th of March 2022. Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visit Belize.

Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visit Belize.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will begin their official visit to Belize in order for their Royal Highnesses to visit historic Mayan sites and also to commemorate the riches of the Garifuna community. Equally, their Royal Highnesses will also explore the country’s biodiversity.

Afterward, the Duke and Duchess will be visiting Jamaica. Their visit will involve engaging with the Jamaican Defense Force and also recognizing the seminal legacy of Bob Marley including ground-breaking Jamaican musicians as well as upcoming stars.

The visit of the Duke and Duchess will come to a stop in Bahama where they will engage and spend quality time across the islands to experience the happening of a world-famous Junkanoo parade.

However, it must be noted that the COVID-19 has been a major issue across countries, their Royal Highnesses will take out time to understand the effect the virus has caused across the Caribbean, and of course, how communities have worked hand in hand to face the challenges the virus had caused them. Meanwhile, the Duke and Duchess will take the moment to celebrate Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee.

In regards to the official visit of the Duke and Duchess to Belize, it was said that the  Duke and Duchess are having so much fun as they met with local cultural dancers in Hopkins a coastal village and heart of the country’s Afro-Indigenous Garifuna community.

The Duke and Duchess couldn’t help it as they danced to the up-tempo punta rhythms. “This is so much fun!”, the Duke and Duchess noted. It was said that Laura Cacho who happens to be a local organizer was seen dancing with the Duke and Duchess and was taken aback by the enthusiasm of the Duke and Duchess. She, however, noted. “They had beautiful rhythm. It was a pleasure for me. It was excellent. … They were shaking their waists like nobody’s business.” She added.

It was reported that the Duke and Duchess encountered some challenges in Jamaica, a group recognized as the Ado vacate Network, describes itself as a non-partisan alliance of individuals and organizations which advocates for human rights tragedy in the history of humankind, declared a protest stating, “During her 70 years on the throne, your grandmother has done nothing to redress and atone for the suffering of our ancestors that took place during her reign and/or during the entire period of British trafficking of Africans, enslavement, indentureship, and colonialization.”

However, the couple will be embarking on a tour of a key archaeological site. Afterward, they will be taking part in a reception organized by the Governor-General of Belize to commemorate the queen’s 70-year reign.
