According to the University of Lagos, Adedeji graduated with a CGPA of 4.98, an achievement that is worthy of emulation. Incidentally, Nigeria does not celebrate academic achievements. We rather celebrate non-starters reality tv stars who add little or nothing to the policy. Except of course irrational rubbish meant to delude rather than educate.
The various government agencies and government will not shower this exceptional academic with money nor cars. He will not be afforded scholarships to read and study to his heart’s content. He will not be invited to tv and radio stations to inspire the teeming young scholars across the country. He will just be seen as another “efiko”. This genius will not be accorded the opportunity to become a world-class engineer who will build the next masterpiece in the country.
We will watch this space. We at afripinion.com celebrate you Alimi Ibrahim Adedeji of the University of Lagos Nigeria.
