“The Federal Government of Nigeria on the 4th of June 2021 has suspended, indefinitely, the operations of the microblogging and social networking service, Twitter, in Nigeria,” the Ministry of Information and Culture announced in a statement.

“However, checks by our correspondent showed that Twitter is still up in Nigeria as of the time of filing this report 1 PM Saturday 5th June 2021 as users still have access to the platform. The minister’s statement was also not informative on the time that the ban would be enforced.
