His Excellency President Muhammadu Buhari will be visiting Lagos State today (Tuesday) to commission projects, including the Dangote Fertilizer Plant, which is said to be a world-class fertilizer plant, located at Ibeju Lekki Lagos State.

Buhari visits Lagos State for the commissioning of projects.

President Muhammadu Buhari, during his visit, will also be commissioning the newly built terminal of the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos State, the Integrated National Security and Waterways Protection Infrastructure, known as the Deep Blue Project, the Lagos Ibadan rail project, and then flag off commercial operations of the project. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu; Kayode Fayemi Governor of Ekiti State; Seyi Makinde Governor of Oyo State; Dapo Abiodun Governor of Ogun State will be present at the events.

The newly built terminal of the Murtala Muhammed Airport is stated as capable of processing 14 million passengers per annum; while the Ebute Metta Station is touted to be the largest railway station in West Africa.

An aide of Buhari recently stated that “President Buhari is committed to developing a modern national railway network that will connect every part of Nigeria, and promote trade, travel, tourism, commerce, and national integration.”

It has to be noted that the president has a great interest in the development and growth of the country. Recalling that the president had last visited Lagos in April 24, 2019. Then, the president commissioned projects like the Institute of Maternal and Child Health at Ayinke House; an ultra-modern 170-bed Obstetrics and Gynecology specialist hospital, which is located within the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, the Oshodi Interchange terminal for a modern transportation hub, an 822 high-capacity mass transit buses, and also a 10-lane world standard international airport road.

The Dangote Fertilizer which is reported to be a world-class fertilizer plant is said to have the capacity to produce up to 3 million tons a year of urea and ammonia. Speaking on the Dangote Fertilizer Plant, Femi Adesina the spokesman to the president stated, “As you are aware, the President has been very passionate in his commitments to boosting Nigeria’s food sufficiency and taking millions of Nigerians out of poverty.

What the President is doing today, is advancing his commitments to enhancing Nigeria’s self-sufficiency in food production, by putting in place everything necessary to boost agriculture, both to meet local needs and also to drive exports.

Agriculture contributes over 25% to Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product and is also a major contributor to our foreign exchange earnings. So, farmers are pleased with these measures because, the Dangote plant will not only make fertilizer available to farmers, but also at very cheap and affordable prices”.
